Opportunity
It was CondeNet's Emerging Media team's primary responsibility to find ways to maximize ad profits by rebroadcasting on site content elsewhere.
YouTube was one of CondeNet's first choices as a video content partner for two reasons.
First off, the shear power of YouTube's homepage is something on par with Yahoo's in terms of driving mass amounts of traffic. For instance once, YouTube's staff highlighted a Concierge.com video of a beach scene with a bikini in the thumbnail and from that video alone Concierge.com got 500K hits over the next 48 hours.
Secondly, due to YouTube's variety of users, they are an excellent tool to reach and convert new users for all 5 of CondeNet's destination sites. Once the user watches a video within a CondeNet branded YouTube page, they are encouraged to experience the corresponding site as well.
Solution
✓ Met with YouTube to learn how to create and maintain a site branded YouTube channel
✓ Used Photoshop to create supporting assets for each of 5 brand new YouTube channels
✓ Used YouTube's admin UI to create the channels
✓ Planned and Trained CondeNet production team in the day to day support
