Adobe Partnership
✓ Adobe Success Story - CondeNet / Adobe Partner for AMP✓ Adobe Media Player supports HD web video
✓ 100% compatible with Flash / Flex / AIR / AJAX
Client(s)
Adobe and CondeNet (Concierge.com, Epicurious.com, Style.com, Men.Style.com and Wired.com)
Opportunity
CondeNet was riding the web video wave early on from Fashion Shows to Store Tours to Cooking Techniques and Gadget Reviews.
Once the on-site CMS solution was in place and running smoothly, the next logical question for our Emerging Media team was - 'where else can we maximize value off of the same video assets?'
First on the syndication pipeline came iTunes, then YouTube which each had their own pros and cons but were straight forward enough.
Then came Adobe who asked CondeNet to help them launch their client side (no storage limits imposed?!?) downloadable Flash/Flex/AJAX but mainly AIR compatible HD quality video show viewing environment.
In other words they approached CondeNet with a way to deliver HD quality video to users on any OS at any decent bandwidth level.
I lead the integration efforts from a technical point of view. For instance I made sure CondeNet's Java back end plugged right into XML feeds that fed into Adobe Media Player's database.
Solution
Hard coding XML and hosting it on a reliable CDN, Akamai.
Technologies
Flash, Flex, AIR, XML
